I have read how to improve a school.....now what? This presentation will share lessons learned from a first year principal in a Title I school in combination with research conducted to present a new way of thinking about planning for school improvement. A framework for developing a plan will be shared that not only has implications for building and district leaders with school improvement planning but also for districts to begin to think about how to develop all of their schools to be high performing ones. This new framework forces leaders to focus on taking actions that lead to organizational change by providing differentiated support for schools and leaders. Participants will leave with an innovative way of thinking about school improvement to increase student achievement.
