Every child counts. Every child matters. Every single child has purpose and deserves the opportunity to reach his or her greatest potential from a first rate education system, despite where they live, their ethnic background, their physical or emotional challenges, or how much money they have. It doesn’t matter. It shouldn’t matter. Leaders will learn how to intentionally find ways to meet the needs of all children regardless of Zip Code, socio-economic statues or physical challenges by: 1. Including plans for diversity in teacher recruitment efforts 2. Expanding early childhood education to close the achievement gap 3. Make technology accessible to all 4. Set goals to include cultural proficiency training for all staff as part of the strategic planning process 5. Monetary equity to address poverty issues 6. Evaluate policies to address a high number of in school and out of school suspensions 7. 3rd grade reading gate 8. Use student input on equity solutions to target needs.
