School-wide transformation that effectively prepares 21st century learners requires a collaborative, creative school culture. To meet students’ academic and social-emotional needs and prepare them for the future workforce, schools must become hubs of innovation. Every school has pockets of innovation, where like-minded teachers support each other. However, to reach Title I goals, innovation must help all stakeholders visualize new strategies for school-wide excellence. Change moves at the speed of trust. When principals establish an intentional plan for peer coaching they honor collaboration and risk taking, creating trust. Creative thinking is essential for students and teachers. Historically, teachers have felt isolated, making school-wide change tenuous. What can break through and help schools achieve desired results? Peer coaching. Session participants will practice coaching protocols, using observation-based reflections that scaffold learning for teachers and drive change.
