Lori Severino, Ed.D. is an Assistant Professor at Drexel University. Prior to her tenure at Drexel, she was a public- school teacher for 26 years. While at Drexel, she incorporated the science of reading theories and research into both preservice and graduate education programs. Her research interests include teacher preparation and literacy, with a focus on dyslexia. Dr. Severino has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and is the co-author of the book: Using Creativity to Address Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia: Assessments and Techniques. She has also created a patent-pending, digital reading comprehension assessment (ACE) for middle grades. Dr. Severino has presented both internationally and nationally and is the 2019 recipient of Council for Learning Disabilities Floyd G. Hudson Service Award.
