Jess Caron currently works as Title I Specialist and ESEA Regional Program Manager for the Maine Department of Education. At the MDOE, Jess oversees the Title I Summer Reallocation LEA grant through our new online grant management system, Grants4ME. Before working for the MDOE, Jess was a 7th/8th grade Special Education Inclusion Teacher and taught Language Arts at the Landmark School, a private high school for students with Language-Based Learning Disabilities (LBLDs). She also taught educators about how to best support students with LBLDs in courses through Landmark Outreach and Southern New Hampshire University. Jess has spoken at two conferences and co-wrote a chapter in the book Catalyzing the Field: Second Person Approaches to Contemplative Learning with Professor Katie Byrnes. Jess earned a B.A. in English with a minor in Teaching at Bowdoin College and received her Maine State Teaching Certification in 2014.
