Melissa Schroeder is a Management and Program Analyst with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Non-Public Education. In this role, she assists in developing federal education program regulations and guidance and assists with providing technical assistance regarding the equitable participation of private school students and teachers in federal education programs. Prior to joining the Department, she was a secondary school English teacher, and, most recently, served as the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Equitable Services Ombudsman and liaison to the nonpublic school community at the Nevada Department of Education. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, a Master of Science in Higher Education Leadership from Capella University, and a doctoral degree in Education from Northcentral University.
