Our New Normal: Conversations on 2020 Turning Into Action in 2021 and Beyond

Thursday February 11, 2021
10:00 - 11:30 AM
Workshop 3

2020 provided unprecedented events for many, if not all, of us in education and the entire country. From Covid-19 and all of the changes that resulted because of it,to Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd losing their lives sparking protest throughout the world, 2020 will go down as one of the most tumultuous years ever in American history. While many conversations on these topics and issues have occurred, our session aims to highlight the actions that resulted from these conversations. Talking about problems must lead to solutions to those problems. The process to solving these problems is long, sometimes painful, sometimes uncomfortable, arduous and ongoing. But the future success of our educational system and our country depends on our willingness to do the work. This presentation highlights how one school and district in Arkansas went about that process.
