Mental health of adults and children in a school is the foundation upon which learning is built. This session will demonstrate the use of the Learning Supports Pathway approach from the UCLA Center for Mental Health in Schools to provide mental health and social-emotional supports. Participants will identify the organizational and operational structures that support mental health in schools. Strategies for families, communities, and schools to align and integrate supports will be examined and applied for participants. A particular emphasis will be on secondary trauma for adults who serve students coming from trauma or with mental health challenges and strategies to support teachers and school staff. Participants will leave with a list of organizational improvements and research-based strategies to employ for a school-wide mental health focus.

One or more presenters on this session represent an organization selling products or providing services to the ESEA market.
