11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Grand Ballroom 2501 C

High-performing and rapidly improving high-poverty schools and districts hold important lessons that can be mined to improve achievement for all children. In this presentation, participants will go on a whirlwind tour with the author of the popular book Schools that Succeed and the podcast ExtraOrdinary Districts. See what she has seen and learn the essential principles that bind all these outliers together, despite their enormous differences in location, size, level, and demographics. Hint: there's no one program, no magic formula. The work the educators in these schools do is difficult but creative, doable, and satisfying -- and within the reach of all educators.
