ESSA Evidence Standards in Action: Struggling Readers

Wednesday January 30, 2019
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Grand Ballroom 2501 A

The ESSA evidence standards define strong, moderate, and promising levels of evidence. These matter most for schools seeking school improvement grants. But all schools can benefit from using proven programs. This presentation discusses how schools can use programs meeting ESSA standards to accelerate achievement for struggling readers in all grades. Proven programs for struggling readers include one-to-one and one-to-small group tutoring, and whole class and whole school programs. Participants will learn how to select, integrate, and implement proven programs of their choice in a multi-tiered system of support, using cost-effective strategies available now from many providers. Every child really can read, and we now have the tools to see that they do.
