Friday February 24, 2017
1:00 - 2:00 PM
Promenade Ballroom BC

This presentation will present findings from a professional development organization working in Title I schools in southern Idaho. The work of the Developing Mathematical Thinking (DMT) project has focused on providing professional development and technical assistance to Title I schools through grants funded by Mathematics and Science Partnerships, the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation. The work completed in DMT schools has also been highlighted by the Institute of Education Science and their What Works Clearinghouse. Participants will learn about the DMT framework, the DMT professional development model as well as a variety of supplemental materials used with DMT partner schools. Specific math topics used as examples include basic fact fluency, place value and fractions.
