Achievement gaps are defined as “the differences in academic performance between groups of students of different backgrounds.” By acknowledging our gaps along with establishing consistent, focused routines and instructional practices Dr. Mudd was able to earn the National ESEA Distinguished status. Dr. Mudd increased student achievement by utilizing evidenced-based practices and strategies to improve student outcomes across all grade levels. This session will provide insight and examples of how through the Power of Yet, the students and staff embraced change. Follow our journey and receive first-hand information from our leaders on how the Power of Yet had a direct impact on our school community. This session will provide participants with many of the best practices and evidence-based strategies we used to reinvigorate a passion for teaching and learning that changed our school for the better.
