The Math Party: Sing! Dance! Exercise! Learn!

Friday February 18, 2022

B2-1

Come Party after the Pandemic!! Let’s mount math achievement levels, while mitigating the scourge of obesity. This electrifying and empowering presentation challenges educators to embrace the art of infusing music, dance and exercise into their existing math curriculum. Studies show students will return to school with less than 50% of the pre-pandemic math learning gains and some nearly a full year behind what we would observe in normal conditions; and the obesity rate among children has increased by 2% since the start of the pandemic. The infusion of singing, dancing and exercising with curriculum content invigorates learning; it physically and mentally engages students while academically preparing and motivating them to excel. Participants will gain theoretical and practical knowledge of how learning through music and movement enhances instruction and amplifies cognitive skills, while promoting a healthy lifestyle.
