NAESPA Distinguished School: Becoming Distinguished: Hear Our Story, Reflect Upon Your Own, Recommit Together

Wednesday February 16, 2022
10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
R06-R09

Come learn a few key initiatives that helped us become a National Distinguished School. We will discuss Brainy Days, an approach to increasing achievement by expanding opportunities for advanced students with benefits for all, as well as our professional learning model for developing and implementing rigorous spiral assessments. Hear about our houses, student advocacy lunches, SEL implementation, and other ways we actively build and nurture our school climate and culture. Participate in small group discussions with other educators about strong positive practices. Video clips of our teachers and students will drive small group chats. Come share your challenges and brainstorm possible ways to overcome them. This session aims to present a handful of our most powerful practices while providing intermittent time for reflection and discussion of your own journey. One part elementary instruction and one part climate and culture, let’s recommit, renew, and reimagine together.
