Join the Transformational Instructional Leadership Team (TILT) from an ESEA 2021 nationally distinguished school as we share our journey through the evolution of curriculum while facing uncertain times. We will discuss how Problem-Based Learning (PBL) became a movement at Parkway Elementary in Virginia Beach, Virginia. "Be the Change" began as a brainstorming session that quickly became a battle cry in our community when tragedy occurred. This PBL continues to evolve, incorporating relevant, social justice themes into appropriate, curriculum-aligned learning, such as poetry, citizenship, civics, social-emotional learning, and more. With an intention of empowering student voice to reimagine their world, these educational experiences allow our learners to embrace and believe they can truly "Be The Change."
