Activating Student Learning in Post-COVID Schools through SEL and Arts Integration
This presentation will provide data-driven evidence that identifies district and school level elements required to implement a sustainable SEL-informed arts integration platform to address student emotional challenges and diminished student engagement resulting from the pandemic. A panel of teachers, school administrators, researchers, and SEL specialists will provide multiple perspectives to enable districts to garner resources and stakeholder support to establish sustainable SEL/Arts initiatives based on multiple, successful, federally-funded arts integration initiatives. Student outcomes include increased belonging, empathy, problem-solving skills, and comfort with ill-defined problems-- all skills needed to address real-world post-pandemic challenges.
