Reading Efficiency: The Gateway to Sustained Reading Success and Reading Motivation

Tuesday February 9, 2021

Lecture 4

Schools strive to ensure all students have the essential skills to be confident, grade-level readers. These skills - including fluency, vocabulary knowledge, comprehension, stamina, and the motivation to read - are frequently taught in isolation, and students are expected to apply these skills when they read. But what about our most struggling readers, including English learners and students with learning disabilities, who struggle to master these skills? How can we best support these students in developing all of these reading skills, regardless of learning environment (in-school, hybrid, virtual)?

Join Reading Plus Chief Education Officer Jenny Eisenman and Community Manager La’Keisha Ciprian to learn how Reading Plus’s research-based, edtech solution will help your Title I students build the essential silent reading skills associated with reading to learn while they read, accelerate their reading growth, and increase their confidence as readers, and their interest in reading. Participants will identify key Reading Plus features, including an adaptive initial assessment, personalized instruction, engaging and high-quality fiction and nonfiction texts, and relevant actionable data for teachers and administrators. We will conclude with recent results and partner school success stories.
