Laura Otten currently serves as a School Improvement Consultant for Kent Intermediate School District. She is responsible for guiding districts in the school improvement process, providing supports to Comprehensive Support and Improvement Schools, serving as a State and Federal Programs resource, and coaching districts with MTSS. For the past 8 years, Laura has coordinated and led a consortium of 19 local districts and 56 private schools to provide the equitable services to students, staff, and families. This work has been replicated throughout Michigan and has been shared at the national level. Laura has also worked as a classroom teacher, building principal, and is currently an active board member with the Michigan Association of State and Federal Program Specialists, currently serving as a Congressional Representative, and previously serving as President for 2 terms, and chair of MASFPS Institutes.
