Be inspired and informed with a special presentation, by Marisa Russo, a nationally recognized presenter and literacy consultant specializing in ELD and differentiated instruction. In this fun and engaging session, participants will learn research-based strategies for targeting and differentiating instruction to accelerate critical foundational literacy skills for all struggling learners, tips on how to frontload and turbo-charge academic vocabulary, and participants will develop a deeper understanding of flexible grouping. Marisa will model how to provide ongoing opportunities for listening and speaking for effective participation in collaborative conversations, ensure students understand English word parts to help students become confident and successful spellers and writers. In addition, with a focus on targeted vocabulary, our most fragile learners will not miss out on essential grade-level, standards-aligned instruction while increasing their literacy and language skills.
