The Ripple Effect of Stronger Science Education: Building Thriving Communities
Stronger science education builds stronger communities. This session explores how K–12 science achievement fuels broader outcomes—economic growth, civic engagement, and community resilience. Drawing on new research and Florida district case studies, including Hillsborough, Sarasota, and Flagler County Title 1 Schools, we’ll examine how increased science literacy - especially through mastery-based and digital tools such as Penda Learning—leads to improved assessment scores, narrowed equity gaps, and long-term community benefits. Participants will gain practical strategies to boost student engagement, empower teachers, and position science as a cornerstone of opportunity.
