Talk So Others Can Hear. Listen So Others Feel Heard.

The words and language we choose and the communication tools we employ can be the difference between inclusive and welcoming or exclusive and divisive. Becoming aware of our own biases, as well as the needs and challenges of our audiences, allows us to foster understanding, connection, and engagement. We'll take you through a series of exercises and provide a safe and supportive environment where you can reflect individually and in small groups to discover which of your communication skills and practices need work, how to build trust and find common ground, and what it takes to build resilient relationships with both internal audiences such as staff and school board members, as well as external audiences such as student families and community partners.

2023 National ESEA Conference
