Safe, Seen, and Supported: Behavior Strategies That Create Inclusive Classrooms

In today’s classrooms, educators face increasing challenges in addressing disruptive and unsafe student behaviors. Rooted in the principles of the Safety-Care behavioral safety curriculum, this session equips educators with practical, evidence-informed strategies to reduce challenging behavior while promoting a safe, supportive learning environment. Participants will explore proactive techniques that can be implemented immediately. From de-escalation techniques to environmental adjustments, this session emphasizes simplicity, consistency, and compassion. Educators will leave empowered with tools that improve classroom climate, reduce crisis incidents, and foster student self-regulation.

Erin Mayberry is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with 15 years experience providing support to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities in home, school, and clinic settings. Caitlin Dalton is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 20 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Special Education from Illinois State University. Caitlin taught self-contained special education, specializing in autism while also working part-time in the field of ABA before completing her Master's degree in Behavior Analysis in Practice from Florida Institute of Technology.
