This session will cover the latest in federal legal, legislative, and regulatory developments, including those around federal funding appropriations and education policy. Attendees will hear about how appropriations legislation and proposals will impact their programs in the coming fiscal year. Additionally, attendees will learn about new regulations, policy, guidance, executive orders, and other changes that could affect federally-funded programs. And finally, the presentation will review any recent or pending litigation in federal courts that could impact the administration of federally-funded programs.
Julia Martin is the Director of Policy and Government Affairs at the Bruman Group, an education law firm in Washington, D.C. She works with States, districts, colleges, and organizations to help decipher what new federal laws and policies mean for them. Prior to her work at the firm, she staffed a Congressional Committee and was a member of Congress.
