Cultivating Communities through Meaningful Engagement

In a world where we can engage with each other in many different ways, meaningful engagement is harder than ever. Whether you are trying to engage community stakeholders, families, colleagues, or work teams, it is essential to act with intention when planning meaningful engagement. Join this session to examine what current research shows us about engagement in today’s society, ways to meet federal program requirements for engagement, and strategies and tools to develop purposeful and meaningful engagement to cultivate communities while supporting the academic success of students.

Speakers
Denise Ling

Dr. Ling has worked at the district level with federal programs and grants management for 25 years. She has served as a member of the South Carolina Committee of Practitioners, has held all offices within the South Carolina Association of Title I Administrators (SCATA) organization, and has been a member of the National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators (NAFEPA) for 25 years. She has served as a member of the NAFEPA Board of Directors, Executive Committee, three terms as NAFEPA President, and is currently serving as the NAFEPA Past-President. She directs the Office of Federal Programs (OFP) in the planning, management, and compliance of the federal ESEA grants, state categorical and special revenue programs, and the district’s school accountability support program.
