The Lost Art of Encouragement and Why it is Vital in Schools Today

Monday February 8, 2021
11:15 AM - 12:45 PM
Workshop 2

This presentation will demonstrate how education leaders can positively impact employees by using authentic one-on-one positive encouragement to motivate and inspire employees. According to Forbes, 66% of employees will leave a job if they do not feel appreciated. School leaders face an overwhelming task of recruiting and retaining talented employees who will inspire and motivate students for individual success. Attendees will learn how to use verbal and written praise to positively motivate employees and see how this motivation will translate into greater student achievement. The workshop will also cover strategies for how to deal with difficult and non-productive employees. The presenter used these principles over a three year period to help Saraland Elementary become a Blue Ribbon School 2017 and a National Title One Distinguished School 2018.
