Learn how to develop fluency, support vocabulary and promote comprehension by combining the powerful, research-based strategies of teacher modeling, repeated reading, and progress monitoring by using the web-based individualized reading intervention program. The presenter will use a power point presentation, hands-on activities, simulated classroom fluency lesson to achieve the following objectives: 1. Understand the role of fluency in overall reading proficiency.
2. Understand how to identify students who are at risk for reading failure.
3. Learn how three research-based strategies have been developed into a series of steps that improve fluency, support comprehension in developing readers - and learn why each step is critical to achieve maximum results.
