Tuesday February 9, 2021

Lecture 1

Locomotive Strong for Kids is an approach to learning that combines the best of many programs, theories, and practices to wrap support around our learners to achieve success.  This presentation will share firsthand accounts from teachers as to how they implement these approaches on a daily basis in the classrooms and beyond.  We will explore the use of the Early Warning System as an early intervention and relationship building tool.  We will discuss in depth our STEAM program, an enrichment period and its importance in our schedule.  Administrators will discuss rebuilding academic confidence for struggling students through flexible scheduling as well as our non-traditional approach to dual credit course offerings as a means to build academic confidence and success.   Our session will be full of ideas that any school or teacher can implement with little to no cost and will provide opportunities to connect with teachers in the field directly.
