Rock the Boat

More of the same? Or is it time to challenge outdated educational practices and systems? Our US education systems have failed to show significant improvement in learning outcomes, failed to produce more equitable learning outcomes, and failed to inspire joyous models for teaching and learning. Our students, parents, teachers, and school leaders are searching for so much more. In this session we will explore time-honored and research-supported truths about teaching and learning that must be included in systems redesign. We’ll explore existing practices that are dysfunctional and need to be eliminated, along with specific practices that could make schools more humane and far more effective. Be inspired to lead the way toward an education system that incentivizes practices that make kids love learning and teachers love teaching. We need leaders who are ready to rock the boat!
