In the 2026 school year the question remains: how can we creatively and meaningfully engage families in a large district to positively impact student success? While our students returned to school a few years ago, many families are still finding their way back to the school setting. As we continue to grow in the post- pandemic world, how do we reimagine and cultivate communities in meaningful ways that invites our families to engage as learning partners? Research proves that when schools develop meaningful relationships with families that support learning, children will succeed, not just in school, but also through life. It is pivotal for the success of our students that we build meaningful connections between our school buildings and families. Rooted in the work of Dr. Karen Mapp, the session will explore how to strengthen the Four Essential Cs (capabilities, connections, cognition, and confidence) for families to be empowered as a valued learning partner for their child's education.
