This session explores the topic of advocacy by covering the reasons for engaging in it, the methods for doing so, and essential do’s and don’ts related to lobbying and advocacy at the federal level. The session will clarify the meaning of the term advocacy and discuss its impact on individuals supporting federal programs.

Julia Martin
Julia Martin is the Director of Policy and Government Affairs at the Bruman Group, a law firm based in Washington, DC. Before working at the firm, she worked on Capitol Hill for both a member of Congress and a Congressional committee on issues relating to education and social policy. Julia has presented for more than a decade on similar topics and has hands-on experience drafting federal legislation and working in Congress.
