Raising the Bar, Maximizing the Impact, Measuring the Success

Staff from the Berkeley County School District's Office of Federal and State Programs will present the support system they utilize with Title I schools and schools identified through the South Carolina Accountability System to create and maintain the momentum of school improvement throughout the year. The support system is used to Raise the Bar (establish data driven goals and expectations), Maximize the Impact (implement strategies with fidelity and effectiveness), and Measure the Success (evaluate the impact, outcomes, and return on investment). They will share tools, templates, and lessons learned from their combined experiences with district and school level federal programs and grant management.

Speakers
Johni McElveen

Johni McElveen has worked with federal programs for 4 years. Currently, she is the Coordinator of Federal and State Programs where she assists in the management and implementation of ESEA grants and supports schools in the school improvement process and implementation. She has had many opportunities to support Title I districts and schools with the execution of special revenue projects.

Denise Ling

Dr. Ling has worked at the district level with federal programs and grants management for 24 years. She has served as a member of the South Carolina Committee of Practitioners, has held all offices within the South Carolina Association of Title I Administrators (SCATA) organization, and has been a member of the National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators (NAFEPA) for 24 years. She has served as a member of the NAFEPA Board of Directors, Executive Committee, three terms as NAFEPA President, and is currently serving as the NAFEPA Past-President. She directs the Office of Federal Programs (OFP) in their management of ESEA grants, state categorical and special revenue projects, as well as the current ESSER III academics projects. The annual OFP budget approaches $42 million dollars.
