Learnings From the Field: A Pilot Project Implementing Systemic Collaborative Data Change

Wednesday February 22, 2017
2:30 - 3:30 PM
Room 103

Black Hills Special Services Cooperative partnered with South Dakota Department of Education to pilot an embedded systemic collaborative data process with 11 high-need, rural, Native American schools from across South Dakota. The pilot focused on 5 lenses: student achievement data, professional learning practices, programs and structures, school culture, and family engagement. The process utilized an embedded collaborative process that changed conversations around school improvement and student achievement and created an organized, laser focused experience using data discussions, goal-setting and goal monitoring processes. Session participants will hear about the successes and challenges of the project, will experience the template and resources utilized, and will learn how this process created an environment to make true change with schools who have been designated as priority schools for 10+ years. Is your school ready to change how they utilize data? Then this session is for you.
