Encourage Summer Learning with Statistics in Schools

We are still collecting responses for the 2020 Census. Please remind your members, coworkers, friends and family that they can still respond online, by phone, or on the paper questionnaire received in the mail.  As we delve into summer, I wanted to provide you with a few things to share with your audience(s) via email or social media on things to do at home with children to keep them learning during the summer break.

  • Parent/Caregiver Toolkits: Download the four toolkits filled with at-home resources for parent and caregivers with children in pre-K, elementary, middle and high school

  • Fun Facts: Explore Fun Facts for Father’s Day, the Fourth of July and Back to School! These fact sheets are designed to be used at varying grade levels and across different subjects.

  • Activity Book & Coloring Pages: Entertain and educate young children with a storybook, song, coloring sheets and interactive activities that involve counting and learning about their community.

  • Pin At-Home Activities from the Statistics in Schools Pinterest Page: Visit census.gov/schools and pin activities and resources or follow Statistics in Schools on Pinterestand join in on the fun!

All of these tools/resources can be utilized during National Summer Learning Week, July 6-11, 2020 and beyond!

Partnership Updates:

I received the OK to submit a proposal, but I think the deadline was yesterday(?).  Can I still submit a proposal through the conference portal?  I was glad to see the potential option for virtual and would be interested in that if in-person does not work out.

Enjoy your summer,

Heidi Crawford
