The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Communications and Outreach would like to provide you with advance notification of a virtual showcase featuring Pattison’s Academy by Laurie VanderPloeg, Director of the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services’ Office of Special Education ProgramsDeputy Secretary of Education Dr. Mitchell Zais, formerly South Carolina’s State Superintendent of Education, will also be delivering remarks.

 

On Monday, November 2, 2020, Director VanderPloeg will host a virtual showcase with Pattison's Academy, a year-round K-12 public charter school for children with profound disabilities, located in Charleston, SC. Director VanderPloeg will hear about the planning, preparation, and best practices the school implemented to safely reopen for students as well as the community and school model for student success. She will engage with families, teachers and community and school leaders.
