"We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach."
1. Tell us about your school’s success.
Our school is proud to have consistently earned commendable or exemplary state ratings in academic achievement, growth, and post-secondary readiness for the past three years. Graduation rates have been exceptional, with 100% in the last two years and 98.8% the year prior. Over 95% of graduates annually completed one or more college courses, and 85% earned 12+ college credits. Last year, 81% of graduates earned a general education certificate, and 45% graduated with an associate degree.
We excel beyond the classroom. Last year, a team of three students competed at the Nationals of History Day, another team earned Honorable Mention at the state level. One student competed at Nationals for Certiport Microsoft Word, others earning 2nd and 3rd place at state. SkillsUSA had five entries involving 11 students competing at Nationals, along with 7 Silver and 3 Bronze state medals.
These accomplishments reflect our commitment to academic excellence, career readiness, and student success.
2. Talk about the greatest contributing factor(s) that promoted positive change in your school.
The greatest contributing factor to the success and progress within our school is our Graduation Plan Summaries (GPS plans). These individualized plans are prepared and updated every semester by our academic advisors, ensuring that each student has a clear and personalized roadmap to success.
What sets our GPS plans apart is their focus on aligning academic coursework with each student's unique career goals. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every student receives a tailored plan that charts their journey from high school through college or directly into their chosen career path. Whether a student dreams of becoming an engineer, a business leader, or an artist, their GPS plan identifies the courses, certifications, and opportunities that will help them achieve their fullest potential.
Our program is built around these plans and driven by our students' aspirations. This student-centered approach keeps students engaged, confident, and ready to excel in their next steps.
3. How has ESEA funding supported the school's success?
One of the greatest contributing factors to the positive changes in our school has been our strategic use of ESEA funding to hire additional teachers and paras. This investment has allowed us to significantly reduce our student-to-teacher ratio, creating a more personalized and supportive learning environment.

With smaller class sizes, teachers can dedicate more time to individual students, tailoring instruction to meet their unique needs and ensuring no student falls behind. This approach has fostered stronger teacher-student relationships, improved classroom engagement, and enhanced academic performance across all grade levels.

The reduced ratio has also allowed for more targeted interventions, better collaboration among educators, and the implementation of innovative teaching strategies. By prioritizing this change, we have created an environment where every student can thrive academically and socially, contributing to the consistent growth and success our school has experienced.
4. What professional development activities were used to improve teaching and learning?
Our professional development focuses on achieving 100% mastery for all students by equipping teachers with the tools to identify and address student needs. Teachers work weekly to analyze student data, identify areas of deficiency, and collaboratively develop targeted interventions. This process ensures every student receives the support they need to succeed.
To enhance this work, teachers participate in professional development sessions focused on data-driven instruction, differentiated teaching strategies, and inclusive classroom practices. They are trained to interpret weekly reports effectively and to design interventions tailored to each student’s needs. These sessions also provide opportunities to share best practices and refine instructional techniques.
This collaborative and structured approach empowers our teachers to continually improve their methods, fostering a culture of accountability and ensuring improved teaching and learning outcomes for all students.
5. Talk about the cultural shift leading up to your school's success.
The cultural shift leading to our school’s success was rooted in a shared commitment to ensuring every student reaches their fullest potential. We established a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and accountability, with a focus on 100% mastery for all students. This shift emphasized personalized support, data-driven decision-making, and a student-centered approach.
Teachers embraced a collaborative mindset, meeting regularly to analyze student progress, identify needs, and share strategies to address challenges. Students were empowered through individualized plans, clear goals, and opportunities aligned with their interests and aspirations. Parents and community partners played a vital role in fostering a unified vision of success.

By prioritizing equity, inclusivity, and continuous improvement, we cultivated a resilient culture where every student is supported to achieve their goals and realize their full potential.
6. How has community involvement strengthened your success?
Community involvement has been a cornerstone of our success, strengthened through strong partnerships with industry leaders aligned to our career pathways and GPS plans. These partnerships provide students with real-world experiences, including internships, mentorships, and access to industry-recognized certifications, ensuring they graduate with skills directly relevant to their career goals.
Industry partners also contribute valuable insights to align our curriculum with workforce needs, keeping our programs current and impactful. Their support not only enhances career readiness but also inspires students by connecting classroom learning to real-world applications.

Additionally, parents and local organizations actively support our initiatives, reinforcing a shared commitment to student success. This collaboration between our school, industry, and community ensures every student has the tools, opportunities, and encouragement to excel in their chosen paths.
