Recommitting to Hands On, Engaging Strategies for all Students in YOUR Classroom
Renew your passion for teaching and learning with this presentation that will provide specific and concrete ideas for making your classroom one where children are strong protagonists of their own learning. Hands on activities with materials and ideas for obtaining easy to find materials will be a focus of this presentation. Through the Innovative Mindset and the work of the National Inventors Hall of Fame, reinvigorate your teaching with strategies such as how to pose big, open-ended questions, how to value and incorporate purposeful collaboration, how to use materials to make a child's thinking visible, and how to build play as a strategy for learning. Britt Magneson
For over 25 years, Dr. Magneson has worked inside public education. Her work within districts includes classroom teacher, building administrator, and Director of Federal Programs. For the last eight years, she has worked in the nonprofit area with the National Inventors Hall of Fame. Her role with the National Inventors Hall of Fame includes teacher professional development in Engaged Learning and Invention Education, and guiding districts to implement exemplary hands-on learning programs that instill and foster inventive dispositions for all learners.
