Online teacher education programs have evolved over the past decade to become a premier option offering great value for future and current teachers to earn their initial or advanced degrees in education.  Online programs offer unique opportunities for those who may or may not fit the "traditional college student" model by offering flexibility in time for completion of coursework, competency based curriculum, and many times, more affordable tuition.  There are extraordinary opportunities for districts and Title I schools representing rural/inner-city schools and first time college students to open pathways and have educators on staff who are certified with excellent training and preparation.  This session will explore the value of online teacher education programs that can specifically benefit Title I schools in high needs areas.
