Power of Collaboration: Supporting Teachers of Multilingual Learners

The session is of special interest to anyone involved in the professional development of classroom teachers of ELs. Teachers with Multilingual Learners (MLs) in mainstream classrooms require continuous professional support. This session demonstrates how and why research-based models of EL coaching are applied in practice by analyzing real-life case studies. We discuss key principles and practical models of how districts can establish and develop their ML coaching programs and share experience and resources created and collected over the years. Equity for MLs is conceived as the main purpose of implementing ML coaching and is viewed through a multicultural lens.
