Policy Institute: Education Policy in the New Frontier Breakout Session

Sunday February 11, 2018
12:30 - 2:00 PM
Nutter Theatre

These combined sessions will update attendees on the stated policies and priorities of the new administration (both with respect to education specifically and the role of the federal government more generally) and will examime the follow-through on those priorities. Has the size of the federal government shrunk? Are there more opportunities and choices for States and Districts? What changes have come about that impact the everyday administration of federal programs? And what new challenges have been presented by this shift for which leaders should be prepared? In the second portion of the session, breakouts will examine federal legisaltive and regulatory procedure and how it has shifted in recent years. Attendees will learn how and when action should be taken to influence policy and how quickly changes at the federal level will impact them.
