ESSA Evidence Standards and School Improvement: Putting Research to Work for Your Schools

Sunday February 11, 2018
9:00 - 10:00 AM
Room 103

Do you know which programs meet the new ESSA standards for “strong,” “moderate,” and “promising” evidence of effectiveness? This interactive workshop will give you the tools and the background to understand the ESSA evidence standards and put them to work for your schools. The evidence standards matter. Schools applying for school improvement funding must select programs that meet one of the standards, and federal RFPs in seven other areas give extra points for using programs that meet the standards. More importantly, your students will benefit from receiving instruction based on proven programs. This workshop will introduce Evidence for ESSA (www.evidenceforessa.org), a new website from Johns Hopkins University designed to help busy educators find out which specific programs meet the ESSA standards. Come learn about the standards, the free website tool, and how these can be used to help schools, districts, and states improve outcomes for students.
