Revolutionary RULE of 3 Acceleration Model of Early Language and Literacy

The RULE of 3 Acceleration Model is a revolutionary language and literacy program designed to accelerate the achievement of early childhood ELs and other diverse learners. The RULE of 3 is a multifaceted learning system that provides integrated vocabulary, academic language, and literacy development, including phonological skills and technologically-enhanced multimedia learning.. The model is based on a Vygotskian creative construction framework, which states that language and phonological systems need to unite separate functions to be successfully learned. The RULE of 3 uses the three processes of REHEARSE, ANALYZE, and PRODUCE to integrate the semantic, phonological, and syntactic components of language. Project Moving Forward: RULE of 3 Model received two multimillion National Professional Development (NPD) grants from the Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA) for Project Moving Forward/Adelante (2017) and Project Avanzando (2021).

Dr. Ventriglia-Navarrette has had 20 years of experience working with English learners as a teacher, bilingual psychologist, and university professor/researcher. Her goal has been to close the achievement gap and establish equitable educational outcomes for English learners.
