Building Family Efficacy: The Pathway to Student and School Success

Friday February 3, 2023
2:45 - 3:45 PM
Room 103-106

Family Efficacy, or the degree to which families feel competent in assisting their children with school is a direct connection to student learning success. Families that are disengaged or disenfranchised from their child's school often lack the self-efficacy to support their children academically. In this session, author and national expert Dr. Steve Constantino, will share the importance of promoting family efficacy and provide tools and strategies for all schools to increase student achievement through increased family engagement. Concepts such as invisible engagement, family academic socialization will be shared and tools like the "Efficacy Checklist" will be discussed and demonstrated. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with a process that can be replicated in any school or classroom.
