Sarah Sayko

Deputy Director
National Center on Improving Literacy

In addition to leading the parent and family strand at NCIL, Dr. Sayko has assisted the Michigan Department of Education in developing resources on equitable family-school partnerships for early literacy achievement for leaders, educators, and families. Previously, she was a literacy content specialist for the Center on Instruction and a technical assistance provider with the National Reading Technical Assistance Center (NRTAC) and the Reading First Sustainability Project. In these capacities, she designed professional learning experiences and resources for literacy leaders and practitioners in evidence-based literacy practices and presented extensively on how to implement and sustain these practices in schools to regional service agency staff, district and school administrators, and instructional coaches.
