Dr. Jefferson has an earned doctorate in the areas of reading and learning disabilities. She has conducted research and has published extensively in the area of literacy. She has taught courses on mild disabilities, school law, inclusion and other areas related to learning and instruction. She has directed a summer equestrian camp for children with disabilities and is currently research director for a Summer Learning camp, serving 120 children. Dr. Jefferson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Special Education, Ball State University.
