Trauma, Toxic Stress and Caregiver Well-Being: Practices for Fostering Resilience

Wednesday February 16, 2022
1:00 - 2:30 PM
217-219

Children/youth and families who have been impacted by one or more Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are at risk for poorer physical, cognitive, and mental health outcomes. Caregivers (education professionals, community professionals, and families) play a critical role in the academic, behavioral, social and emotional development of children's youth. This workshop will introduce an already produced workshop available free to educators to offer to families to introduce them to their child's social-emotional development. The workshop provides support to families through Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs) to build resilience. The workshop will provide access to presentation materials and three resources that accompany topics on ACEs, Toxic Stress and PCEs. Results will be shared from the workshops offered to families/caregivers in Kansas.
