Friday February 6, 2015
1:00 - 2:00 PM
Room 150

Explore the development of and learn how to create a high-quality expanded learning program built upon a strong school-community partnership. Charleston County School District, Charleston, SC, in partnership with Charleston County Community Education, Clemson University, and Public Consulting Group (PCG) Educational Partnerships collaborate annually to successfully implement summer learning opportunities for more than 1,000 at-risk youth in 8 locations, spanning a 7-week time period. Programming is designed to limit the effects of out-of-school time such as loss of academic skills, loss of nutrition, and child self-care situations. Educational leaders will share the journey of program design and implementation focused on scalability, purpose, and engaged learning for students.
