Using Districtwide EL Plans to Understand EL Support at the State Level

While English Learner plans are a federal requirement, Louisiana collected our first plans, the Lau Plan, in 2021-2022 to gather data of how ELs are being supported in the state and how we can provide targeted assistance to our school systems to move them to and beyond compliance. Come learn from our period of trial and error as we undergo the data collection process paired with statewide support to gain an accurate picture of EL programming in a state that is composed of traditional public schools and charter schools.
