Making Up for Lost Time – Creating an ICU (Intensive Care Unit) to Accelerate Learning

Early research findings confirm that school closures have had a negative and possibly long-lasting effect on student success. The warning signs suggest that a return to standard instructions will leave many students permanently behind. This session will model tools and strategies that boost and accelerate the skills of struggling readers. An intense focus on building "word knowledge" and academic language is one of the most effective methods for accelerating learning and understanding.
