Federal Update: The Washington, DC Landscape

Puzzled by the federal appropriations process? Trying to plan and budget for federal programs? Looking to see what the future of policy for requirements like Supplement, not Supplant and Equitable Services might be? Hoping for some insight on reauthorization of child nutrition programs? This session will help satisfy your curiosity about all those questions through updates on activity in Congress and federal agencies that could impact State departments of education, districts, and schools. New guidance from the U.S. Department of Education will be highlighted and explained, along with the difference between regulations and guidance. Attendees will also hear about the development of appropriations bills, budgets, and how special federal spending provisions could impact them.
