Discipline Practices Integrated with Social-Emotional Learning: The Dynamic Duo for Equity
Educational equity is not achieved through policy alone; it requires significant growth from stakeholders. This growth cannot be forced or coerced. It must be undertaken willingly, and with a focus on two integrated factors: 1.) Effective adult-first social and emotional learning 2.) Reformed discipline practices. Learn how to use this dynamic duo to create educational equity from the inside out and from the top down, using Conscious Discipline strategies that encourage self-regulation, reflection, ownership of feelings, a mindset of inclusivity, a compassionate learning environment, assertive communication and agency for educators and students alike.
